The designer studio Nervous System has made a wonderful two layers ring.
The silver version costs 250 backs in their shop but you can also order a variety of steel versions (e.g. gold plated: 30USD) through Shapeways shop of the designers. For some other products the designers offer a level of self customization. Recently, Shapeways started making silver items and to order this ring in silver from Shapeways should be considerably cheaper (about 100USD)
I have ordered the glossy gold plated ring via the Shapeways and when it arrives I will report on the looks and feeling of that ring.
Another jewelry that I like in their shop is the algae series. For example this pendant is rather exquisite and original, in my view
An update: after about two weeks since ordering we received the ring. It feels surprisingly light (by weight) and rather massive (by size).

So, it maybe a good idea to have this ring as a single item on your hand, otherwise it would dominate anything smaller.
